During the period from Jan. 1, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2009, the Wilhaggin Neighborhood Association's extended duty Sheriff's Officers made 9 arrests, stopped 501 suspicious vehicles, monitored another 132 suspicious vehicles, issued 91 citations, and stopped 52 suspicious persons in Wilhaggin. This law enforcement activity is only possible because of the WNA members who have each paid $275/year for the Sheriff's extended duty patrol. This is less than one dollar per day.
The Wilhaggin Neighborhood Association is a non profit organization run by volunteer homeowners who are your neighbors. We all live in Wilhaggin. The sole purpose of our organization is safety and we contract with the Sheriff for WNA patrols. We started in the Fall of 2006 and quickly grew our membership so that we could increase our Sheriffs patrol shifts from four to seven per week. These shifts are six hours each. These are uniformed, Sacramento County Sheriffs Officers in patrol cars who, because of our contract, are working extra or extended duty for just Wilhaggin. Unfortunately, due to an increase in Sheriffs costs we recently had to reduce our shifts to five per week.
Each Deputy serving a shift has our dedicated cellphone. Once you become a member you will get the cellphone number and can call it with any non emergency concerns. In a true emergency call 911. 911 calls are automatically routed to a WNA Deputy if there is a shift at that time.
Thank you for being part of our wonderful neighborhood.
